Aerotek is Hiring for Grinder Operator

Job Description

As a Grinder Operator, you will perform essential operations on Grinder machines, including loading and unloading parts, inspecting parts, and preparing and changing wheels. You will also be responsible for cleaning, performing preventive maintenance, and making minor adjustments to assigned equipment. Additionally, you will prepare logs and records to document machine operation and daily production, entering required data into the computer. This role requires maintaining safe, clean, and orderly work areas, and interacting with various groups and individuals, including supervisors and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Perform operations on Grinder machines including loading and unloading parts.
• Inspect parts and prepare/change grinding wheels.
• Clean and perform preventive maintenance and minor adjustments on equipment.
• Prepare logs and records to document machine operation and daily production.
• Enter required data into the computer.
• Transport parts to appropriate locations as needed.
• Maintain safe, clean, and orderly work areas.
• Review records and reports, including travelers, shift reports, SOPs, and safety sheets.
• Prepare labor sheets and non-conformance forms.
• Interact and communicate with supervisors, co-workers, and other shop personnel.
• Operate grinders, micrometers, gauges, power tools, and computers.

Essential Skills

• Experience in machine operation, especially grinders.
• Proficiency in using micrometers, gauges, and various power tools.
• Ability to maintain and perform minor adjustments on machinery.
• Competence in preparing logs, records, and data entry.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in assembly and mechanical assembly.
• Experience in machine operation and production.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
